When is the last time you felt angry? What triggered it? How did you react? Looking back, do you feel this was the right response? If not, what should you have done differently? Before the anger strikes, practice these every day:
Meditate: Through daily meditation we allow the mind to “rest” and deepen our sense of spirituality.
Relax: Through daily relaxation we calm our breathing and bring our nervous sysem into balance.
Make Healthy Food Choices: By eating healthfully we get adequate fuel for energy and avoid foods that throw our systems into chaos.
Think Positively: Positive thoughts affect our overall mood and even our health.
Take Time Out: Time to play gives us time to be creative, to relax, to laugh and to lighten up.
Rest: Sleep allows the body to rest and the mind to “clean itself.”
Exercise: Exercise is a major stress reducer. It produces feel-good chemicals in our bodies that counteract anger.
Enjoy Close Relationships: We all need this to reduce our sense of isolation and calm ourselves.
Get an Interest: Be a joiner and contributor. Find constructive, creative, and/or challenging ways to channel your energy in positive directions.
Keep a Good Attitude: Turn a situation around and around in your mind like a kaleidoscope until you can get the right light on it.
Barbizon’s life changing curriculum can help you in any situation.

There are numerous qualities that make a good runway model :
1. She is never late; always on time.
2. She is prepared with a model's tote bag.
3. She should fit into garments with little or no alteration.
4. She has good skin and hair and is always well groomed.
5. She is objective and willing to wear garments that she may not like personally.
6. She is cooperative with staff and other models.
7. She is businesslike and professional and realizes that her job is to sell garments on the runway and make them look appealing to the audience.

Think about how much time some people spend just sitting around. Now, think about all of the exciting things there are to do in your community like attending events, visiting museums, and seeing new sights. All of these things can help enhance your personality. Are you a couch potato or an emerging butterfly?
Self confidence, or feeling good about who you are, creates positive energy. People are attracted to positive energy! Don't you like to be around happy people? Happy / confident people help others to feel good about themselves. Knowing who you are gives you substance and allows you to feel like somebody versus feeling empty or jealous on the inside. Everyone wants to know the "somebody" that's in the room. People will want to know who you are when you feel good about yourself. Confident people know themselves, their strengths and weaknesses, and accept who they are. Confidence communicates knowledge and ability. The confident person "get the job" because they present themselves in a professional manner and appear to be a quick learner. If you are a Barbizon graduate, you are definitely one of those happy / confident people. If not, contact us for more information on how we can help.
HOLIDAY SHOPPING TIPS
When shopping for that perfect gift this Holiday Season, don’t get confused by all the sales talk. Here are some definitions for you to keep handy:
Store Policy: Many stores are now required by State and Local Consumer Protection Laws to prominently post their rules regarding sales, returns, and exchanges. Look for the sign (usually behind the cash register desk), read it, and thoroughly understand it before you buy anything. You don’t want to buy a gift for someone if they cannot return or exchange it.
Final Sale: Final means final. Once you buy a final sale item, it cannot be returned. If you are unsure, don’t buy final sale items as gifts. In most stores, it is always final sale on swimsuits, lingerie, and sleepwear.
Me “Look”: Leather-look doesn’t mean leather, silky or silk-like doesn’t mean silk, a suede finish is not suede. “Designer” doesn’t necessarily mean it was designed by anyone you ever heard of. Watch out for such descriptive terms – and take a closer look before you buy.
As Is merchandise has been roughed up by previous customers. Expect missing buttons, broken zippers, falling hems, split seams, snags, tears, and generally bad condition. Sales are final on as is merchandise, and you wouldn’t want to buy anything “as is” as a gift anyways.
As always, we invite you to turn to us for the latest information on beauty, fashion, modeling, acting, and personal development. Until next time, have a safe holiday season.

http://www.barbizonmodeling.com [Barbizon, the leading Modeling and Acting Center], recently announced the winner of its 2008 Photo Shoot Contest with a Delia’s Editor. What happens when a typical fourteen years old girl enters a photo shoot contest and wins? She gets the experience of a lifetime!
Geena Grass, a freshman at Viera High School in Melbourne, Florida, was chosen as this year’s winner of the Barbizon Modeling / Delia’s Photo Shoot Contest. “From the time that I received the call from Barbizon through the actual photo shoot, it was a dream come true. I didn’t think I was going to win.” Her mom, Julie Grass: “It’s been quite exciting. I think we’ve pretty much told everybody that we were coming to New York for the contest and it’s been a flurry of activity in our house ever since.”
Geena and her mom were flown all expenses paid to New York City where Geena enjoyed supermodel treatment from a team of stylists. One look and it was easy to see why Geena was chosen as the winner. Believe it or not, this was her first time in front of the camera. Of course, the fashion capitol of the world is the perfect inspiration. Julie Grass: “The experience since we’ve been here has been quite remarkable. We’ve been having a great time. It’s been very exciting.”
In Geena’s free time she enjoys springboard diving, competitive dance, reading her favorite Twilight series, spending time with friends, and rescuing animals. Her future inspiration is to work in the arts.
The http://www.get-discovered.net [Barbizon Modeling Photo Shoot Contest] occurs annually in New York City. Each shoot is directed by one of our partners in the fashion field.
So what’s Geena’s advice to those wondering why not me? “This was a once in a lifetime experience and I am very thankful for this opportunity. You don’t get given chances everyday and it’s not everyday you get to be a model. You have to enter this contest because it could be you!”

WHERE TO SHOP
Confused about where to shop for your back-to-school & fall wardrobe? Look carefully around your town, and you’ll notice that every apparel store is distinctive, that each specializes, in varying degrees, in fashions that reflect a particular mood or feeling. Therefore, you should get to know each and every department, retail store & specialty shop in your community. In this way, you will narrow down your places to shop to those stores and departments that come closest to matching your individual fashion personality. Of course, if you’re feeling daring, go explore new shops. Also, get to know the latest style of the present season and you’ll see that most shops have started displaying their “seasonal catches” and putting the last season’s styles in the back of the store. Depending on how trendy the store is, this can be a great place to find some classic pieces on sales. Remember to keep your styles ages appropriate.
ACCESSORIES GUIDE
You can’t be a wardrobe “fashionista” without the accessories to go with it. Here are some tips to help you look put it all together from tips to toes:
• Don’t wear jeans with pumps.
• Experiment with a variety of belts.
• Keep the focus on YOU, not your accessories. A little goes a long way.
• Start your accessories wardrobe with the basics: A nice handbag, a few necklaces, several rings and bracelets, a watch, and some sunglasses. To build your collection, add pieces that fit your personality and the trends.
• Use small handbags for evenings or other social gatherings. You don’t need to lug all of your stuff around.
• Your shoes and handbag should coordinate, but they don’t have to be a perfect match.
• Stay true to the style you want to achieve. Black leather cuffs will ruin an otherwise preppy look, for example.
• If you don’t love, don’t wear it. Better yet, don’t buy it in the first place!
ALL ABOUT MASCARA
Many models have been quoted as saying if they could only use one makeup item, mascara would be it! Proper mascara application brightens the eyes and gives them a lift. This gives the eyes their expressiveness.
QUICK BARBIZON TIP
It is very important to find a few minutes every day to be alone and not distracted by your cell phone or TV. Find a quiet space, close your eyes, and relax your mind for at least 10-15 minutes.
